Jawa Yezdi Launches Sporty Version of Jawa 42 in India
Two-wheeler manufacturer Jawa Yezdi Motorcycle has launched the sporty version of its popular bike, the Jawa 42, in India today (September 3). The ex-showroom price of the new Jawa 42 version is ₹26,000 higher than the base Jawa 42. In the Indian market, it will compete with the new Royal Enfield Classic 350, which is priced between ₹1.99 lakh and ₹2.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design: Naked Look with Sporty Appeal
Speaking of design, the bike features a naked look with side or split grab rails, twin angular exhaust pipes, and twin rear suspension. It also boasts an attractive teardrop-shaped fuel tank adorned with Jawa stickers and alloy wheels. The positioning of the foot pegs suggests a sportier riding posture compared to a straight seating stance. Additionally, Jawa has introduced a newly designed seat in this model.
Jawa 42: Hardware and Features
The new Jawa 42 is built on an updated frame. For a comfortable ride, it comes equipped with twin forks at the front and adjustable shock absorbers at the rear.
The bike offers the option of both spoke and alloy wheels. In terms of braking, it features disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS. As for features, the new Jawa 42 includes a digital instrument console and all-LED lighting, including indicators.
Performance: More Powerful Engine
The new version of the Jawa 42 is more powerful than its predecessor. It is powered by a 334cc single-cylinder, DOHC 4V liquid-cooled engine.
This engine delivers a maximum power of 30hp and a peak torque of 32.7Nm. For transmission, it is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch.
