In an official statement, IndiGo has revealed that its groundbreaking order of 500 Airbus aircraft will ensure a consistent flow of deliveries for the airline between 2030 and 2035. This substantial order not only marks IndiGo’s largest-ever purchase but also establishes a new industry record as the largest-ever single aircraft purchase by any airline in partnership with Airbus.
In February, following its acquisition by the esteemed Tata Group, Air India embarked on a transformative journey by signing a momentous deal with Boeing. The agreement, involving the procurement of 470 aircraft at a value of $70 billion, marked a significant milestone in Air India’s evolution. Campbell Wilson, the airline’s chief, emphasized that this strategic move aimed to revitalize the fleet, foster substantial network expansion, and enhance overall capacity.
IndiGo, boasting a fleet comprising of more than 300 aircraft, operates an extensive network of over 1,800 flights per day.
