Hyundai Creta EV Range on Single Charge, Variants, Color Options, and Price Details Revealed Before Launch

The leader in the midsize SUV segment, Hyundai Creta, is all set to make its debut in the electric vehicle (EV) market this January.

Ahead of its official launch at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi this month, the company has revealed details about the specifications of the EV SUV. Hyundai has also provided insights into the battery options available for the Creta EV.

Features and Technology

Battery Specifications and Charging Options

Hyundai has officially announced that the Creta EV will be available in two battery variants: a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh option. The company claims that the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The entry-level version offers an ARAI-rated range of 390 km.

According to the company, the Creta Electric can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes using a DC fast charger. Additionally, an 11 kW AC home charger can fully charge the vehicle from 10% to 100% in 4 hours.

Exterior Design

Hyundai has retained the design of the Creta ICE for the electric version. The front of the EV features connected L-shaped LED DRLs, vertical stacked twin LED headlights, and an active air intake within the front bumper to maintain the temperature of the components.

The charging port is cleverly hidden behind the Hyundai logo on the front grille. New 17-inch alloy wheels have been ergonomically designed specifically for the Creta Electric. At the rear, the SUV will feature a connected LED light with an electric badge, but the bumper will have a new pixelated design.

Interior Design

The cabin layout of the Creta EV is similar to that of the ICE version. It features a 10.25-inch twin-screen infotainment system and an instrument cluster. According to the TVC, the internal color scheme will remain dual-tone, while the Creta EV comes with a new three-spoke steering wheel similar to the Ioniq 5, although the drive control style is different.

Features and Technology

The Creta EV will be equipped with multiple driving modes, a panoramic sunroof, and a regenerative braking system offering a one-pedal driving mode. It also provides Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing users to power external devices both inside and outside the vehicle, transforming it into a portable power source for added convenience and versatility.

Safety features include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC), and many other advanced features.

Variants, Color Options, and Price

The Creta EV will be available in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. There will be 10 color options offered across these variants, including eight monotone and two dual-tone colors, with three available in matte finish.

The expected price of the Creta EV is likely to start at ₹20 lakh and will compete with upcoming electric vehicles like the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE6, and Tata Nexon EV.
