Hyundai Alcazar Launches with Level-2 ADAS, 70+ Safety Features; Starts at ₹14.99 Lakh

On September 9, Hyundai Motor India launched the facelift version of its mid-sized SUV Alcazar. The Korean automaker has included over 70 safety features in the mid-sized SUV, including 6 standard airbags and Level-2 ADAS.

The car has been introduced in four variants – Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature. The ex-showroom price of the petrol version is ₹14.99 lakh, while the diesel version is priced at ₹15.99 lakh ex-showroom.

The company has started bookings for this car. You can book it by paying a token amount of ₹25,000. In the Indian market, the Hyundai Alcazar will compete with the Mahindra XUV700 three-row variant, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus.

Interior: 10.25-Inch Dual Display Available

The layout of the Alcazar’s dashboard is similar to the Creta’s. Its central AC vents are now slimmer and placed below the touchscreen unit. The side AC vents are horizontally placed. The car offers many premium features such as front ventilated seats and a dual-camera dash cam setup.

For the infotainment system and instrument cluster, the car has dual 10.25-inch screens. Its center console also resembles the Hyundai Creta. Hyundai has provided wireless phone charging and a 12W power socket and USB port for the front passenger. The new Alcazar comes with a new tan and blue cabin theme along with updated seat upholstery.

The second row has a fixed central armrest and two captain’s seats (in the 6-seater version) with individual armrests. There are sunshades for both windows, a fold-out tray, and flip-out cup holders. The captain’s seats for second-row passengers also come with wing-shaped headrests, rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, and two USB ports.

According to new photos, the front and second-row seats of the Hyundai Alcazar offer ventilation functions. For more legroom, the second-row passenger can push the co-driver seat forward using the Boss Mode (available in the 6-seater version). The 7-seater version will have a tumble-down feature on the second-row seat for access to the third row. Both front seats have 8 power adjustments, while the driver seat includes a two-level memory-saving function.

Exterior: New Split LED Headlights and Connected LED DRLs

Hyundai has shared images of the car on social media platform X. The major highlight of the new Alcazar is its refreshed design, inspired by the Creta. The front of the SUV now features a bold front grille with H-shaped LED DRLs, connected to quad-beam LED headlights.

The rear of the car has also received significant changes, including new connected LED tail lamps, a redesigned tailgate, and an updated bumper with a skid plate. On the sides, there are new diamond-cut alloy wheels with black-painted wheel arches and roof rails.

Performance: Two Engine Options Available

The new Alcazar comes with engine options similar to the Hyundai Creta. It has a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that generates 160hp of power and 253Nm of torque. For transmission, it offers a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

It also has a 1.5-liter diesel engine, producing 116hp of power and 250Nm of torque. The transmission options for the diesel engine include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT gearbox.

70+ Connected Car Features Available

The SUV comes with more than 70 connected car features, including an air purifier with AQI display, an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, and wireless charging ports for all rows. The car also features a panoramic sunroof, push-button start-stop, dual-zone AC, and paddle shifters with voice control.

Safety: Over 70 Features Including Level-2 ADAS

Hyundai has equipped the Alcazar with Level-2 ADAS for enhanced safety. The technologies include electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), surround-view monitor, forward collision warning via front camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, all-wheel disc brakes, and 19 other safety features. The car also offers 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts with reminders for all passengers, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard safety features. Overall, the Alcazar offers over 70 safety features.
