Honda e-Scooter Launch: Two Swappable Batteries, 104km Range, Digital Touch Screen to Compete with Ola S1

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters is set to launch its first electric scooter in the Indian market today. This electric two-wheeler will come equipped with two swappable batteries. It could potentially be the e-Activa.

Honda has released several teasers of the e-scooter, showcasing the swappable batteries. Earlier teasers also revealed two different types of digital instrument clusters.

The company states that this scooter will be as powerful as the Activa 110, offering a range of 104 km on a single charge. Honda recently showcased its concept model at the EICMA Auto Show in Milan, Italy.

Once launched, it will compete with the likes of TVS i-Cube, Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, and the Ola S1 range.

Due to the availability of replaceable batteries in e-scooters, the space under the seat will be very less.

Turn-by-Turn Navigation and Music Control Features for the Electric Activa

The teaser reveals that the lower variant of the Activa Electric will feature a 5-inch TFT display, while the top variant will come with a 7-inch multi-color screen. The touchscreen will display essential information such as battery charger, range left, speed, mode, Bluetooth connectivity, service alerts, and more. Additionally, the e-scooter will offer turn-by-turn navigation and music control features.

Meanwhile, the TFT display on the base variant will show information such as the speedometer, battery percentage, odometer, and travel data. According to earlier teasers, the electric scooter will feature a swingarm-mounted motor. The teaser also gave a glimpse of the LED headlamp and the seat. The e-scooter will come with an all-LED lighting setup and a USB-C charging port.

Design: E-Scooter to be Available in Three Color Options

The concept model of the e-scooter CUVe was recently unveiled at the EICMA automotive show in Milan, Italy. The E-Activa features a traditional scooter design that looks quite simple and sleek.

The headlamp is positioned on the front panel, unlike the petrol version of the Activa, where the headlamp is located on the handlebar. The electric scooter will be available in three color options: Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Premium Silver Metallic.

This touch screen will be available in Honda electric scooters.

The Honda Electric Scooter comes with a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It features a 190mm front disc brake and a 110mm drum brake at the rear. The scooter is equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels on both sides. The E-Activa has a wheelbase of 1,310 mm, a seat height of 765 mm, and a ground clearance of 270 mm.

According to media reports, the Honda electric scooter will feature a 6kW maximum power swingarm-mounted electric motor. The scooter will come with three riding modes: Standard, Sport, and Econ. Additionally, a physical key and reverse mode will be available as standard features.

To power the motor, the scooter will have two 1.3kWh removable batteries, offering a range of 104km on a single charge and a top speed of 80km/h. It will take 3 hours to charge from 0 to 75%, and 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% using the standard charger.
