Honda Unveils Activa Electric Concept Model: Claimed Range of Over 70 km on Full Charge, EV Fun and EV Urban Also Introduced

At the ongoing EICMA 2024 Motor Show in Milan, Italy, Honda unveiled a concept version of the popular Activa, named the CUV e. Honda plans to launch this electric vehicle (EV) as the “Activa EV” in India, while it will have a different name in the global market.

The CUV e is equipped with two removable battery packs, with Honda claiming a range of over 70 kilometers on a single charge. The company has not yet disclosed further details about the e-scooter. Notably, this concept model was first showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show last year.

Additionally, Honda introduced concept models of two electric two-wheelers: the Honda EV Fun and the Honda EV Urban. The EV Fun concept is a sporty electric naked bike expected to launch in 2025. However, the EV Urban-based bike may take longer to reach production.

Design and Features: Honda’s CUV e Electric Scooter to Offer Three Color Options

The CUV e electric scooter, designed with a traditional scooter style, has a simple and sleek look. Unlike the Activa’s petrol version, where the headlight is mounted on the handlebar, the CUV e’s headlight is placed on the front panel. Honda claims that this electric scooter will be as powerful as a 110cc petrol scooter. It will be available in three color options: Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Premium Silver Metallic.

The scooter features a telescopic fork in the front, a 190mm front disc brake, and a 110mm rear drum brake for enhanced control. It has 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends. The CUV e comes with a 1,310mm wheelbase, a seat height of 765mm, and a ground clearance of 270mm, providing stability and comfort for riders.

To power the motor, the scooter will come with two removable 1.3kWh batteries, providing a range of 70 km on a single charge and a top speed of 80 km/h. Charging from 0 to 75% takes about 3 hours, while a full charge from 0 to 100% takes 6 hours using a standard charger.
