Hero Splendor Plus Xtec Launched with Disc Brakes: Features, Price, and Competitors
Hero MotoCorp launched the updated version of the Splendor Plus Xtec on September 6 in India. The company’s best-selling bike now comes with a disc brake option, though the drum brake remains available for the rear wheel only.
New Graphics and Minor Cosmetic Upgrades
The Splendor Plus Xtec has been introduced with new graphics and minor cosmetic updates. However, the design, hardware, and engine remain unchanged. The bike boasts an impressive mileage of 73 km per liter of petrol.
Priced ₹3,550 More for Disc Brake Variant
Hero has priced the disc brake variant of the Splendor Plus Xtec at ₹83,461 (ex-showroom), ₹3,550 higher than the drum brake variant, which is priced at ₹79,911. The disc brake variant is available in three colors: Black Sparkling Blue, Black Tornado Grey, and Red Black. Additionally, the drum brake variant offers a fourth color option, Pearl Fade-less White. The disc brake variant weighs 1.6kg more than the standard model, with a curb weight of 113.6kg.

The new Splendor Plus Xtec competes with the Honda Shine 100, Bajaj CT 100, Bajaj Platina, and TVS Radiant in the Indian market.
Splendor Plus Xtec: Performance and Engine
The Splendor Plus Xtec is powered by a 97.2CC air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates 8.02 hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is paired with a 4-speed gearbox and equipped with Hero’s i3S technology, which features an idle stop-start system. This technology helps save fuel by automatically turning off the engine after 5 seconds of idle and restarting when the clutch is engaged. Hero claims a fuel efficiency of 73 kmpl, with a fuel tank capacity of 9.8 liters.
Suspension, Braking, and Features
The bike offers a comfortable ride with telescopic forks at the front and a 5-step preload adjustable twin shock absorber at the rear. The top variant comes with a 240mm front disc brake and 130mm rear drum brake, while the standard variant has 130mm drum brakes on both wheels. The bike rides on 18-inch wheels with 80-section tubeless tires and has a ground clearance of 165mm.
Digital Features and Connectivity
The Splendor Plus Xtec comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster that displays mileage information, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, and low fuel indicator. It also features Bluetooth connectivity with call and message alerts, a USB charging port, and a side-stand indicator. A dedicated switch for hazard lights is also included in the new model.
