Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has announced his plan to step down at the age of 70. Currently, he is 62 years old. According to a Bloomberg interview, Adani may transfer control of the company to his sons and nephews at the beginning of 2030.
This is the first time Gautam Adani has discussed his succession plan. Reports suggest that upon his retirement, his four successors—sons Karan and Jeet, and nephews Pranav and Sagar—will become beneficiaries of a family trust.

Gautam Adani emphasized that succession is crucial for stability in business. He stated, “I have left this option to the next generation because change should happen systematically, slowly, and in an organized manner.”

The Adani Group has ten companies listed on the stock market, with Adani Enterprises being the flagship company. The list also includes Adani Ports, Adani Green Energy, Adani Power, Adani Total Gas, Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Wilmar, Ambuja Cements, ACC, and NDTV.
Karan Adani is Managing Director of Adani Ports
According to the Adani Group’s website, Gautam Adani’s elder son, Karan Adani, is currently the Managing Director of Adani Ports. His younger son, Jeet Adani, is the Director of Adani Airports. Pranav Adani is the Director of Adani Enterprises, while Sagar Adani serves as the Executive Director of Adani Green Energy.
