Former X Executives Sue Company, Seeking $128 Million: Lawsuit Details
Former CEO Parag Agrawal, along with four former executives, has filed a case against micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter). According to The Wall Street Journal, the case includes former CEO Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ned Segal, Legal Affairs and Policy Chief Vijaya Gadde, and former General Counsel Sean Edgett among the plaintiffs.
Parag Agrawal, Ned Segal, Sean Edgett, and Vijaya Gadde have filed a case claiming that the company owes them $128 million (approximately INR 1,061 crore). The case is being heard in a court in San Francisco.
In October 2022, Elon Musk acquired the micro-blogging platform Twitter (now X) for $44 billion. After the acquisition, Musk removed four top executives from the company.
The CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, Legal Executive Vijaya Gadde, and CTO Srinivasan Jain are included. Parag Agrawal’s salary as CEO was $1 million. In current rupees, that’s approximately around 8.29 crores.
Parag Agrawal became the CEO of Twitter in November 2021. Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey resigned from the CEO position on November 29, 2021, after which Parag Agrawal was appointed as the company’s CEO. Before becoming CEO, Parag was Twitter’s Chief Technology Officer.
Parag was born on May 21, 1984, at the government Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer, Rajasthan. His grandparents lived in rented accommodation in the Dhanmandi area of Ajmer. His father, Ramgopal Agrawal, worked in Mumbai at BMRCL, which led their family to shift to Mumbai later on. Parag completed his early education from Atomic Energy Central School No. 4 in Mumbai. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from IIT Mumbai, he pursued his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Stanford University in the United States.
Parag prefers to spend time with his family.
Parag’s wife, Vinitha, is a physician and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Stanford School of Medicine. Previously, she has worked as the Director of Product Management at Flatiron Health. She holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Parag and Vinitha have a 3-year-old son, born in November 2018, whose name they have kept private. Parag also enjoys book reading with his son.
