Flipkart Introduces UPI Service: Transfer Money and Get Discounts!
E-commerce website Flipkart has initiated its Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service. Through this, users can make payments using QR codes, settle electricity bills, and recharge mobile phones using digital services. Additionally, the company is offering a ₹25 discount on the first order through this payment method.
Flipkart has partnered with Axis Bank for this endeavor. The information was provided by the company’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Rajnish Kumar. According to Rajnish, the company expects direct benefits from its UPI service to about 50 million registered customers and 1.4 million sellers.
To activate Flipkart UPI, follow these steps:
- Open the Flipkart app on your smartphone.
- Click on the “Scan & Pay” option.
- Here, you will find the option for “My UPI.”
- Select your bank from the list provided.
- Now, enter your bank details.
- Your bank details will undergo SMS verification.
- After verification, your Flipkart UPI will be activated.
You can also link your Rupay credit card with Paytm, PhonePe, Google, and Amazon Pay, as well as other third-party UPI apps. Recently, the food aggregator Zomato has also launched its UPI service. Additionally, Tata New, Make My Trip, and WhatsApp also offer their own UPI services.
In 2016, Flipkart acquired the payment service provider application PhonePe. Under Flipkart’s ownership, PhonePe emerged as a popular UPI payment application in India. However, both companies separated in 2022.
