Epigamia Co-Founder Rohan Mirchandani Passes Away at 42 Due to Heart Attack
Rohan Mirchandani, co-founder of FMCG company Epigamia, passed away at the age of 42. According to reports, Rohan suffered a fatal heart attack late on the night of December 21.
A Visionary Leader and Entrepreneur
Mirchandani was a graduate of NYU Stern and the Wharton School. In 2013, he co-founded Drums Food International, the parent company of Epigamia. Under his leadership, Epigamia became one of India’s largest Greek yogurt brands.
Company Spokesperson’s Tribute
A spokesperson from Drums Food expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “Rohan was our guide, friend, and leader. We are committed to realizing his dreams with strength and enthusiasm. His values and vision will continue to inspire us.”
Leadership Transition and Family Support
The company announced that in Rohan’s absence, the current leadership team will manage the business. Senior leaders, including Ankur Goyal (COO and founding member), Uday Thakkar (co-founder and director), and the board of directors, will oversee daily operations. Rohan’s family members, Raj Mirchandani and partners at Verlinvest and DSG Consumer Partners, will also provide their support.
Expanding Reach Across Cities and Beyond
As of December 2023, Epigamia retailed its products through 20,000 touchpoints across 30 cities. The company is also planning to expand its business to the Middle East by 2025-26. In the financial year 2023, Epigamia achieved sales worth ₹168 crore.
Rohan’s passing is a significant loss to the FMCG industry, but his legacy will continue to inspire his team and the broader entrepreneurial community.
