Citroen C3 Hatchback Launched with Automatic Transmission at ₹10 Lakh, 6 Airbags, to Rival Tata Tiago
Citroën announced the price of its entry-level hatchback Citroën C3’s automatic transmission model on September 28. The French carmaker had introduced the updated versions of the Citroën C3 hatchback and the Citroën C3 Aircross in the Indian market during the launch event of the SUV-coupé Basalt in August 2024.
Hatchback Now Comes with 6 Airbags and New Features
The Citroën C3 now comes equipped with 6 airbags, along with several new features. Citroën has offered a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission in its top variant Shine Turbo, priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This car competes with Maruti WagonR, Celerio, and Tata Tiago.
Citroën C3: Engine and Gearbox
The Citroën C3 is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 81 Bhp and 115 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car also offers an option for a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, which produces 109 hp and 190 Nm of torque. It now comes with the option of a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Exterior: LED Projector Headlamps Replace Halogen Headlamps
The exterior design of the updated Citroën C3 remains unchanged, but it now features LED projector headlamps, replacing the halogen headlamps. The car also comes with integrated turn indicators on the Outside Rearview Mirror (ORVM). The ORVMs are now electrically adjustable and foldable. The rear windshield is equipped with a wiper and washer.
Interior: 7-Inch Fully Digital Driver Display
The car’s dashboard remains the same as before, but it now features a 7-inch fully digital driver display, borrowed from the Citroën C3 Aircross SUV. Additionally, the automatic climate control and power window switches have been relocated from the center console to the driver-side door pads.

Features: 6 Airbags for Safety
The Citroën C3 hatchback comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, remote locking/unlocking, and a height-adjustable driver seat.
For safety, the C3 hatchback now includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera with sensors.
