Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Launching on Dec 20: New Frame, Price ₹99,999

Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch the updated model of its popular electric scooter, Chetak, on December 20. The new EV will feature a redesigned chassis frame with the battery pack positioned under the floorboard, offering more storage than the current 22-liter under-seat space. Additionally, minor design changes are expected, and the new battery pack may provide an improved range.

Design and Pricing Likely to Remain Similar

The updated Bajaj Chetak will likely retain its existing design, with prices expected to be similar to the current model. Currently, the Chetak is available in three variants priced between ₹96,000 and ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Steel Body with LED Lighting Setup

The electric scooter will continue to feature a steel body, with minimal design changes. It will include body-colored rearview mirrors, satin black grab rails, matching pillion footrests, headlamp casing, and a charcoal black finish.

Advanced Features and Potential Upgrades

The Chetak will come equipped with disc brakes, alloy wheels, LED lighting, telescopic front suspension, and an IP67-rated waterproof battery. While the current model has drum brakes on both ends, the updated version may include a disc brake setup for enhanced safety.

Hill-Hold Control and Follow-Me-Home Lights

The EV will also offer advanced features like turn-by-turn navigation, music control, call alerts, a customizable theme-based color TFT display, follow-me-home lights, and Bluetooth app connectivity. Additional features such as hill-hold control and a new ‘Sport’ ride mode will also be available. In India, Chetak competes with electric scooters like the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, and TVS iQube.

Range of 137 km on a Full Charge and Top Speed of 73 km/h

Currently, the Bajaj Chetak is offered in three variants: Chetak 2903, Chetak 3202, and Chetak 3201.

  • Chetak 2903: Priced at ₹95,998 (ex-showroom), it comes with a 2.88 kWh battery pack offering a range of 123 km and a top speed of 63 km/h.
