Bajaj Launches Cheapest Variant of Chetak Electric Scooter

Bajaj Auto has launched its most affordable variant of the popular electric scooter Chetak in the Indian market. The company claims that the electric scooter can run up to 123 km on a full charge. Its price starts at ₹95,998 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including EMPS-2024 scheme).

The new Bajaj Chetak 2901 electric scooter is priced at ₹27,321 for its urban variant and ₹51,245 for the premium variant. The Chetak 2901 scooter will be available at dealerships from June 15, 2024. It can compete with Ola S1X, Ather Rizzta S, TVS iQube (2.2kWh), and Vida V1+.

Bajaj Chetak 2901: Design and Color Options

The 2901 edition of the Bajaj Chetak EV is launched with 5 color options, including Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow, and Azure Blue. The company has not made any changes to the design of the electric scooter. It retains the same design as before with a steel body.

It comes with two-tone seats, body-colored rear-view mirrors, a satin black grab rail, and matching pillion footrest casting and charcoal black finish. The electric scooter features disc brakes, alloy wheels, LED lighting, telescopic front suspension, metal body panels, and IP67 waterproofing.

Bajaj Chetak 2901: Battery and Range

The Chetak 2901 is powered by a 2.88kWh battery pack, which is rated by ARAI to provide a range of 123 kilometers. However, the urban and premium variants of the Chetak 2901 achieve a slightly lower top speed of 63 kmph.

The Chetak 2901 comes with a 2.88kWh battery pack, while the urban variant offers a 2.9kWh option and the premium variant offers a 3.2kWh battery pack option. The Bajaj Chetak 2901 delivers an ARAI-rated range of 123 kilometers on a full charge. The scooter has a top speed of 63 kmph. Its battery takes 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent.

5-inch TFT Display with Sports Riding Mode

This electric scooter features a similar color LCD instrument console and Economy riding mode as other variants. If you opt for the 3,000 Rupees tech pack option, you’ll get additional features such as Sports Riding Mode, Bluetooth connectivity for calls and music control, Hill Hold Assist, Reverse mode, and Follow Me Home Light.

Similar to the urban variant, the Bajaj Chetak 2901 features a telescopic suspension at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. It comes equipped with drum brakes on both ends for braking.
