Adani Total Gas Barsana Plant Commences Production: Set to Generate 10 Tonnes of Biogas Daily
Adani Total Gas Limited, a company of the Adani Group, has commenced production at its plant in Barauni, Uttar Pradesh. The plant will process 225 tons of agricultural waste daily, resulting in the production of 10 tons of biogas. The project, valued at 200 crore rupees, is expected to be completed in three phases.
Once fully operational, the plant will process 600 tons of organic waste, producing 42 TPD (tons per day) of compressed biogas and 217 tons of organic fertilizer. The company claims that this agricultural waste-based plant will be India’s largest bio-CNG plant.
Adani Total Energy’s Biomass Limited (ATBL) operates this first production facility. It utilizes the latest anaerobic digestion technology to convert organic material into renewable biogas. As a result, greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels are reduced.
Pranav Adani stated, “We take pride in announcing our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through our work at Adani Gas.”
He further mentioned that the announcement of starting production from Adani Gas‘ new projects in Uttar Pradesh fills them with pride.
One such state-of-the-art biogas plant, which converts organic materials into Renewable Compressed Biogas (CBG) and organic fertilizers, is emblematic of our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Adani Group is also engaged in copper production. Currently, the group company “Kutch Copper” has commenced production at the Mundra-based Greenfield Copper Refinery project. This marks the group’s entry into the metal industry. Adani Group has invested approximately $1.2 billion (around INR 10,008 crore) in this plant.
This copper smelting plant will be completed in two phases, with the first phase targeting an annual production of 500,000 tons of copper. In the second phase, another plant with a similar capacity (5 lakh tons annually) will be constructed. This implies that with a total annual production capacity of 1 million tons, it will be the world’s largest single-location metal smelter.
