In a recent interview, producer Asit Modi finally addressed the much-awaited comeback. He stated,
“The popularity of the show is still intact, but many fans feel it’s missing some spark since Daya Bhabhi left. I agree with them. We’re making full efforts to bring her back. The entire team of writers and actors is working hard for her return. Hopefully, Daya Bhabhi will return soon. We can only pray Disha Vakani makes a comeback, although she currently has family responsibilities.”
Why Did Disha Vakani Leave the Show?
Disha Vakani became a household name through her portrayal of Daya Ben. She took maternity leave in 2018 and hasn’t returned to the show since. Despite several reports suggesting her possible comeback, no official confirmation has been made.
Sources reveal that the actress had set specific conditions regarding working hours and compensation, but no final agreement could be reached.
Asit Modi Speaks Out on Allegations
During the same interview, Asit Modi also addressed the allegations made against him by former cast members.
“I’ve never distanced myself from my actors. If anyone has issues, they are always welcome to reach out. I’ve always prioritized the show over personal gain. Hearing such accusations does hurt, but it’s a part of life.”
He further added,
“Some actors who have left the show are now speaking against me. I won’t respond harshly. They contributed to TMKOC’s success, and while I led the project, everyone’s hard work made it what it is today. We are like a train—some compartments may derail, but the train keeps moving forward. I feel bad, but I forgive them.”
