Yuvraj and Harbhajan Criticized for Mocking Disabled in Video: Police Complaint Filed

A complaint has been filed at Amar Colony police station in Delhi against former cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, and Gurkeerat Mann for creating and posting a video mocking disabled people on social media. The complaint was lodged by Arman Ali, Executive Director of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People. The complaint also names Meta India’s Managing Director Sandhya Devanathan.

The Indian team recently won the Legends Cricket Championship held in England. Following this, Harbhajan posted a video on social media. In this video, the three former cricketers are seen walking like disabled individuals. An NGO working for disabled people in Delhi filed a complaint against the three cricketers at Amar Colony police station. The NGO alleged in the complaint that the video shows the three players insulting disabled people and hence a case should be registered against them. The police have started an investigation based on the complaint.

After winning the Legends Cricket Championship, Yuvraj, Raina, and Harbhajan made a video on the song “Tauba-Tauba.” Harbhajan posted a video on social media and wrote that after playing continuously for 15 days, their entire bodies were exhausted. The video quickly went viral. Users began to express their opposition to the three and called the video an insult to disabled people.

Harbhajan Apologized and Deleted the Video

Later, Harbhajan deleted the video and apologized. He posted that neither he nor his colleagues had any intention of harming anyone or any community. The video was made purely for entertainment purposes.

Para World Championship Winner Manasi Joshi Also Objected

After the video surfaced, Para World Championship-winning badminton player Manasi Joshi expressed her objection. She wrote in a long post on Instagram, “Stars like you are expected to be responsible. Please do not mock disabled people. This is not a joke.
