Yuvraj’s Father Yograj Singh Slams Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni: “World Will Spit on You, Dhoni Should Reflect on His Actions”
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, has once again found himself embroiled in controversy. This time, Yograj has made statements targeting former Indian captains Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni. Yograj, who played seven matches for India, stated that he will never forgive Dhoni. His comments have gone viral on social media.
Speaking about Kapil Dev, who led India to its first World Cup victory, Yograj Singh said, “He dropped me from the team in 1981. I told him back then that a time will come when the world will spit on you.”
In an interview with G Switch’s YouTube channel, Yograj further remarked, “I will never forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at himself in the mirror. He is an excellent cricketer, but what he did against my son is now coming to light. He will never be forgiven in life. There are two things I’ve never done in my life: first, I have never forgiven anyone who has wronged me. Second, I have never embraced such people, even if they are family members or children.”
Yograj Singh’s Bold Claims Against Kapil Dev
In the same interview, Yograj Singh made bold remarks about the 1983 World Cup-winning captain, Kapil Dev. He claimed that his relationship with Kapil Dev soured after he was dropped from the Indian team in 1981. Yograj believes that Kapil saw him as a competitor and deliberately removed him from the team.
Yograj stated, “I want to show the world that Yograj has achieved something, despite being pushed down. Today, the whole world is beneath my feet, saluting me. Some of those who did terrible things to me are now suffering—some have cancer, some have lost their homes, and some have no children. You know who I am talking about… it’s your ‘Greatest Captain of All Time,’ Mr. Kapil Dev. I told him that a day would come when the world would spit on him. Today, Yuvraj Singh has 13 trophies, and you have only one— the World Cup.”
Yograj Singh’s Repeated Criticism of MS Dhoni
This isn’t the first time Yograj Singh has targeted MS Dhoni. The former cricketer, now 66 years old, has previously criticized Dhoni on multiple occasions. Earlier this year, he claimed that due to Dhoni’s misdeeds, CSK lost the IPL 2024.
Yograj also accused Dhoni of being envious of Yuvraj Singh. He remarked, “CSK lost IPL 2024. Why did they lose? You reap what you sow. Yuvraj Singh is an ICC ambassador, salute to him! Where is the arrogant Dhoni now? He didn’t even shake hands with Yuvraj, and that’s why CSK failed this year.”
Dhoni Might Play IPL as an Uncapped Player
MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020. However, it’s still unclear whether the 43-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman will continue playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Some media reports suggest that CSK is trying to convince the BCCI to allow Dhoni to play as an uncapped player in the upcoming IPL.
