The BCCI announced the Indian team for the T-20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka on Thursday. Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the captain for the T-20 series.

Key Notes:
- Rest for Bumrah: Senior player Jasprit Bumrah, who was part of the Indian team that won the T-20 World Cup last month, has been rested for the Sri Lanka tour.
- First Assignment for Coach Gambhir: Gautam Gambhir, who was appointed as the head coach of Team India just two days ago, will be taking on his first assignment with this tour. The 42-year-old Gambhir replaces Rahul Dravid, known as ‘The Wall’. Dravid’s tenure ended after the T-20 World Cup. Gambhir’s tenure will last until July 2027.
