Swapnil Kusale Wins Bronze for India, Secures Third Medal in Shooting at Paris Olympics 2024
India has secured another medal in the Paris Olympics, once again in shooting. Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale has brought this medal home. Swapnil Kusale won a bronze medal for India in the 50-meter rifle 3-position shooting event.
With this achievement, this young man from Maharashtra has made his country and his family proud.
Swapnil Kusale’s First Olympics and Medal Victory
This is Swapnil Kusale’s first Olympics, and he has already won a medal for India. India reached the finals in the 50-meter rifle 3-position shooting for the first time and secured a medal in their debut final.
Thanks to Swapnil Kusale from Maharashtra, India achieved this milestone. In 3-position shooting, athletes shoot in three different positions: standing, prone, and kneeling.
Swapnil Kusale secured third place with a score of 451.4. China’s Liu Yukun finished in second place with a score of 463.6. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish won the silver medal with a score of 461.3.
India Wins Medal for the First Time in This Event
Previously, India had won two bronze medals. All three of India’s medals so far have come from shooting. Earlier, Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal in the 10-meter air pistol event.
Following that, the duo of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles 10-meter air pistol event. In all these events, India secured a medal for the first time.
India Wins Medal on Sixth Day of Paris Olympics
On the sixth day of the Paris Olympics, India secured a medal. The fifth day was also remarkable for India. In badminton, P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen advanced to the Round of 16. In table tennis, Sreeja Akula emerged victorious and also reached the Round of 16.ย
Olympic medal-winning boxer Lovlina Borgohain advanced to the quarterfinals. Additionally, in archery, Deepika Kumari reached the Round of 16.
