Shubman Gill to Miss Second World Cup Match Against Afghanistan
The BCCI has confirmed that Shubman Gill won’t be traveling to Delhi with the team for the upcoming match against Afghanistan in the World Cup. He will remain in Chennai with the medical team.
India is set to face Afghanistan on October 11 in Delhi, but Gill’s absence is expected to continue. There is hope that he might be fit to play against Pakistan on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
Unfortunately, Gill couldn’t take part in India’s first match against Australia due to a bout of dengue. In his absence, Ishan Kishan opened the match but was dismissed without scoring any runs.
Gill has been battling a high fever since his arrival in Chennai, and the subsequent dengue diagnosis has put his participation in doubt.
