Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah Nominated for ICC Player of the Month for June; Gurbaz Included

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the contenders for the Player of the Month title for June following the T20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah Among Nominees

In addition to Rohit Sharma, the list includes Jasprit Bumrah, who led Team India to the T20 World Cup title after 17 years, and Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Rohit is Team India’s Top Scorer

Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer for India in the T20 World Cup. He scored 257 runs in 8 matches with an average of 36.71 and an impressive strike rate of 156.7. In the Super-8, Rohit played a brilliant inning of 92 runs off 41 balls against the top contender Australia. He also scored 57 runs off 39 balls in the semifinal against the defending champion England.

Bumrah Named Player of the Tournament

Team India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also performed exceptionally well in the T20 World Cup. He bowled with an economy of 4.17 in 8 matches and took 15 wickets. He was the second-highest wicket-taker for Team India and was also named Player of the Tournament.

Gurbaz Top Run Scorer of the Tournament

Afghanistan’s opener batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz also had a stellar performance in the T20 World Cup. He was the top run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 281 runs in 8 matches with a strike rate of 124.33. During this inning, he also hit three half-centuries.
