Rinku Singh Joins India-A Squad: Set for Another Clash with England Lions in Multi-Day Match
Rinku Singh has been added to the squad for the second match of the three-match unofficial Test series between India-A and England Lions. Initially, he was named in the team only for the third and final match of the series.
The second four-day match between the two teams is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad starting from January 24. The first multi-day encounter between India A and England Lions concluded as a draw.
Rinku Singh, 26, made his international debut last year during the T20 series against Ireland in August. He continued to be part of the team in T20 series against Australia, South Africa, and Afghanistan. Additionally, he was a member of the gold medal-winning team at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. Rinku made his ODI debut in South Africa in December last year, participating in two matches.
Despite not having made his red ball debut for India, he served as a substitute fielder for the Indian team during the Boxing Day Test at Centurion’s SuperSport Park last year. While previously included in the India-A squad for the second four-day match against South Africa A in Benoni, he did not feature in the playing eleven.
In the second multi-day match between India A and England Lions, the fast bowling department of India A will be led by Navdeep Saini. Vidavath Kavarappa from Karnataka, who secured his place in the squad with a strong performance for South Zone in the Duleep Trophy, will join him. Other additions to the fast bowling unit include Tusshar Deshpande and Akash Deep.
The India A squad for the second multi-day match includes Abhimanyu Iswaran (captain), Sai Sudarshan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Tilak Verma, Kumar Kushagr, Washington Sundar, Saurabh Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Vidwath Kawarappa, Upendra Yadav, Akash Deep, Yash Dayal, and Rinku Singh.
