Neymar’s ₹818 Cr Saudi Deal; New Star After Ronaldo, ₹625 Cr Pact

Brazil’s star footballer Neymar Jr. has signed a ₹818 crore (€90 million) deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. Prior to this, Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo had struck a $75 million (about ₹625 crore) deal with Al Nassr. His contract is valid until 2025.

The announcement of this deal was made by Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal on August 15. Neymar’s agreement is for a period of two years.

In 2017, Neymar had signed a deal with the French club PSG. Currently, Neymar was associated with the French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He had concluded his contract with PSG. In 2017, Neymar had signed an agreement worth around ₹2,000 crores with PSG. He remained with the club for 6 years.

At the age of 31, Neymar has scored 118 goals in 173 matches for the club. Due to injuries, he had to spend considerable time off the field as well. He won five Ligue 1 titles and three French Cups, but he couldn’t lead the club to a Champions League title.

Neymar’s departure from PSG has been associated with controversies, particularly involving his interactions with fellow player Kylian Mbappé. There have been ongoing instances of disputes between Neymar and Mbappé. After leaving PSG, Neymar liked a post on Instagram which read: “In the last season, Mbappé told PSG that he can’t play with Neymar anymore.”

Interestingly, news of Neymar’s potential move to Al-Hilal has emerged, and coincidentally, Mbappé has returned to training with PSG.
