IPL 2024 Schedule: CSK vs RCB to Kick Off Tournament on March 22, Split into Two Phases Due to Elections

The schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 consisting of 21 matches was announced on Thursday. The complete schedule of this season was not released due to the Lok Sabha elections. The schedule for the second phase will be announced after the Lok Sabha election dates are declared.

The first match of this season will be held on March 22 at the Chepauk Stadium between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The timetable from March 22 to April 7 for the first leg has been announced. During this period, 21 matches will be played in 17 days, including 4 double-headers (two matches in a day).

CSK will play the opening match of the IPL for the ninth time. The team has previously done so on 8 occasions. CSK has made it to the finals a total of 10 times, winning 5 titles.

The last title victory for CSK saw them defeating GT by 5 wickets. In the latest season of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious under Dhoni’s leadership. In the final match held in Ahmedabad, the team defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. CSK is the second most successful team in this tournament.
