Indian Team Announcement for T20 World Cup: Shivam Dube IN, KL Rahul OUT, Pant-Sanju as Keepers, Gil and Rinku Singh as Reserves
India has announced its team for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team will participate in the tournament to be held in the United States and the West Indies. Team India will kick off their campaign with a match against Ireland on June 5th.

Team India will face Pakistan in their second match on June 9th. India’s first match will be against Ireland on June 5th, followed by their clash with Pakistan on June 9th, then a match against the United States on June 12th, and finally, a game against Canada on June 15th.
The opening match will be between Canada and the host team, the United States.
This edition of the T20 World Cup will be held from June 2nd to June 29th in the West Indies and the United States. The tournament will kick off with the opening match between Canada and the host team, the United States, in Dallas. The final match will be held on June 29th in Bridgetown, Barbados, West Indies. The Super 8 and knockout matches will be held in the West Indies.

In the tournament, a total of 55 matches will be played among 20 teams over a span of 29 days, making it the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup.
England and the West Indies have each won the T20 World Cup title twice. In 2022, England defeated Pakistan in the final to claim the title. India faced defeat against England in the semifinal match. India won the inaugural tournament in 2007 but has since failed to clinch the trophy again.
Additionally, Pakistan, Australia, and Sri Lanka have each won the title once. Both the West Indies (in 2012 and 2016) and England (in 2010 and 2022) have won the T20 World Cup twice, making it a tie between the two teams in terms of titles won. The tournament has been held eight times so far, with the ninth edition scheduled to be held in the United States and the West Indies.
In Group B and Group D, there are three strong teams each. The preliminary matches will see five teams divided into four groups. India and Pakistan are in Group A, while Group B consists of New Zealand, Afghanistan, and the West Indies. England and Australia are placed in Group C, while Bangladesh is in Group D along with South Africa and Sri Lanka.
