Hyderabad Cricket Assoc’s Letter: World Cup Schedule May Change Again
The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HPA) has written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to change the schedule of the ODI World Cup. The New Zealand-Netherlands match is scheduled to be held on October 9 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Uppal, while the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match is scheduled to be held on the next day i.e. October 10.
The schedule of nine matches has been changed due to security reasons. The match to be played on October 10 was supposed to be played on October 12, but due to the rescheduling of the India-Pakistan match, two consecutive matches had to be played in Hyderabad.
The Date Should Be Changed Keeping in Mind the Security Arrangements
HCA has written to BCCI, according to HCA News Agency. The association has asked for time between these two matches. He says that the date should be changed keeping security in mind. The Hyderabad police have expressed concerns about providing security for back-to-back matches, particularly the Pakistan matches.
Hyderabad to Host Three Matches in World Cup
Hyderabad is to play a total of three matches. The first match will be played between Pakistan and Netherlands on October 6. After this, the second match will be played on October 9. And the third match will be played on October 10. A match is to be played between India and Pakistan on October 14. Hence Pakistan also asked for time before this match.
If the Date is Changed, Fans Will Be in Trouble
If the venue or date of the match is changed after the HCA’s suggestion, fans planning to travel to Hyderabad may face a lot of trouble. Tickets go on sale in less than a week.
New World Cup Schedule… 9 Match Dates Changed
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the World Cup schedule on June 27 itself. But, the dates of 9 matches were changed due to security reasons. World Cup to Be Played From October 5
ODI World will be played in India for 46 days in October-November, in which 48 matches will be played. The first match between last World Cup winner and runner-up England and New Zealand will be played in Ahmedabad on October 5. 45 group stage matches will be played till 12th November. The two semi-finals will be played on November 15 and 16 and the final will be played on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
The Trophy Was Launched Into Space
The trophy was launched into space two months ago. The ICC sent the trophy into space with the help of a balloon with the help of America’s private space agency ‘Sent Into Space’. The trophy was unveiled in the stratosphere after reaching an altitude of 12,000 feet above the Earth’s surface. After which the trophy was taken down in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Along with this, the world tour of the trophy was also announced.
The Trophy Has Returned to India After Traveling to 18 Countries
After the launch, the trophy returned to India after traveling to 18 countries on a world tour starting from 27th June. Now the trophy is being taken to different cities of India. Earlier, the trophy has also reached Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The tour will end on September 4.
The Weight of the World Cup Trophy is 11 Kg
The ICC trophy was designed by Paul Morsden of Gerrard & Company in London. The weight of this trophy is 11 kg and the height is 65 cm. The trophy is coated with silver and gold. In the middle is a globe shaped like a cricket ball. This globe is placed on three pillars. These columns are considered as stumps. Below is a circular base with the name of the winning team written on it.
The trophy is made in three stages. First design, then production and finally engraving. After the trophy frame is ready, its polishing begins. This trophy has been decorated in silver and gold.
