Former South African captain Faf du Plessis may make a comeback to international cricket in the T20 World Cup scheduled for July, playing for the South African team. Faf, who announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2021, has been actively participating in domestic tournaments, currently featuring in a competition in Abu Dhabi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has decided to retain Faf du Plessis as the captain for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. After Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy in the previous IPL season, RCB entrusted Faf du Plessis with the leadership role.
Faf du Plessis emerged as a standout performer in IPL 2023, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer.
