Devon Conway’s IPL 2024 Exit Due to Injury: Richard Gleeson Joins CSK for Lucknow Match
New Zealand’s Devon Conway has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to injury reasons. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has included England’s Richard Gleeson in the team in Conway’s place. Conway hasn’t played a single match this season.
Due to a thumb injury, Conway was unavailable for the first part of IPL 2024. He underwent surgery on his thumb last month and has been away from the playing field since then.
CSK’s upcoming match is scheduled against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow on April 19th. CSK is currently third in the points table with 8 points, having won 4 out of 6 matches this season. Last season, Player of the Match was in the final
Last year, the Player of the Match was in the final against Gujarat. CSK won that match by 5 wickets. In IPL 2023, Conway scored 672 runs in 16 matches, making him the highest run-scorer for his team.
CSK signed Conway for 1 crore in the 2022 mega auction. The left-handed batter has scored 924 runs in 23 IPL matches with an average of 46.12 and a strike rate of 141.28.
