Spinners Shreyaanka Patil and Sayaka Ishaq had a standout performance in this year’s Women’s Premier League (WPL). Patil, a 21-year-old off-spin bowler, and Ishaq, a 28-year-old left-arm spinner, have been selected for the T20 series for the first time.
Harmanpreet Kaur to Captain Test and T20 Teams
Harmanpreet Kaur will captain both the Test and T20 teams in the upcoming series starting from December 6. The Indian team will play Tests against England and Australia, providing opportunities for both experienced and emerging players.

Unfortunately, due to their inclusion, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Devika Vaidya couldn’t find a place in the squad.
Preparations for BCCI T20 World Cup Underway
BCCI is gearing up the team for the Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled for September-October 2024 in Bangladesh. The focus is on building a strong team by combining young talents with experienced players. After the series against England, India will play a Test and six limited-overs matches against Australia.
Women’s Team to Host Test Match after 9 Years
The Women’s Team will host a Test match on home ground after a gap of 9 years. Their last Test match at home was in November 2014 against South Africa, which India won by an innings and 34 runs. Since 2014, India played only one Test each against England and Australia, both overseas.
Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami in Test Team after 20 Years
Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami will join the Test team after 20 years. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team for the first time in Tests, having previously captained only the ODI and T20 formats.
