Dron Desai has created a unique record in the Diwan Ballubhai Under-19 Multi-Day Cup Tournament organized by the Central Board of Cricket (CBCA) in Ahmedabad. Scoring a massive 498 runs in a single match, Dron Desai has broken a record that stood for more than 30 years. In this tournament, the St. Xavier’s team defeated JL English School by an innings and a staggering margin of 712 runs.
Dron Desai Smashes 498 Runs in a Single Inning
In this match, JL English School batted first and managed to score only 48 runs. For St. Xavier’s School, Yash Desai and Daishin Sharma took 4 wickets each. Following this, St. Xavier’s School gave a solid thrashing to the bowlers of JL English School.
St. Xavier’s team posted a total of 844 runs for 7 wickets, with Dron Desai scoring an incredible 498 runs off 320 balls. During this outstanding inning, he hit 86 fours and 7 sixes. In the second inning, JL English School could only score 92 runs, resulting in their defeat by an inning.
Dron Desai Breaks the Previous Record with a Score of 498 Runs
With an individual score of 498 runs, Dron Desai shattered the previous record of 372 runs. His 498-run score is now the highest in the 30+ year history of this tournament. On the other side, Het Desai from St. Xavier’s School also contributed significantly, scoring 142 runs off 94 balls.
