Pakistan’s Geo News channel reported that the renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was arrested at Dubai Airport. According to the news, Rahat was detained just before boarding his flight to Pakistan. Subsequently, Dubai police took him to Burj Dubai Police Station for further proceedings. Naturally, this news spread like wildfire on social media.
However, the story took a dramatic twist when Rahat Fateh Ali Khan himself appeared on social media. He shared a video against the backdrop of Dubai, stating that the news of his arrest was entirely false.
According to information shared by Geo News, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s former manager and prominent showbiz promoter Salman Ahmed had filed a police complaint against him in Dubai. Rahat and Salman have been involved in a dispute for some time, with Rahat also filing a case against Ahmed.

In a video made while sitting in Dubai, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan himself addresses the rumors on social media. He says, “I am here in Dubai to record my songs and perform programs, and everything is going great thanks to all of you and the Almighty.
My enemies are spreading false news about my arrest. Please do not pay any attention to such rumors. I will soon return to my home in Pakistan and bring you new superhit songs.”
8 Billion Earnings and Tax Evasion Allegations
It was previously revealed that over the past 12 years, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan earned 8 billion rupees through numerous local and international shows in Pakistan.
However, following these earnings, allegations of tax evasion and money laundering began to surface. Earlier this year, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) initiated an inquiry against Rahat.
Assault Over a Liquor Bottle: Another Controversy for Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
The news of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s alleged arrest in Dubai adds to the series of controversies surrounding his name. Recently, a video went viral showing Rahat allegedly assaulting one of his band members over a liquor bottle.
However, Rahat’s former manager, Salman Ahmed, is not without his controversies. In February of this year, a video leaked showing Ahmed issuing veiled threats to famous Bollywood stars and Pakistani qawwali singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The video, shot and leaked by one of Ahmed’s staff members, was recorded six months prior. In it, Ahmed expressed anger towards stars who did not fulfill their commitments and mentioned that legal action should be taken against such celebrities.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is the nephew of the renowned qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He is known in Bollywood for singing superhit songs like “Lagi Tumse Man Ki Lagan,” “O Re Piya,” and “Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji.”
