Vikrant Massey has suddenly decided to quit acting late at night. The actor shared this information through a social media post. As the news broke, Vikrant’s fans were shocked and disappointed. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will watch the film The Sabarmati Report at 4 PM today. The film is based on the infamous Godhra incident in Gujarat.
Announcement of Retirement
In his post about quitting acting, Vikrant wrote, “Hello, the last few years and the years before them have been wonderful. I thank all of you for your constant support. However, as I move forward, I realize that it’s time to re-balance myself and return home. As a husband, father, son, and actor. Therefore, in 2025, we will meet for the last time, unless time deems otherwise. My last two films and all the memories from these years will always stay with me. Again, I will always be grateful for all these moments.
Fans Are Disappointed
Vikrant Massey has not yet disclosed the reason for his retirement from acting. However, fans were certainly disappointed by this announcement. One fan wrote, “Why are you doing this? There are very few artists like you. We need good cinema.” Another wrote, “So suddenly? Is everything okay?”
Vikrant’s Acting Career
Vikrant started his acting career in 2007 with the TV show Dhoom Machao Dhoom. However, he gained significant recognition for his role as Shyam Singh in Balika Vadhu. Later, he made his Bollywood debut with Ranveer Singh’s Lootera (2013). Following this, he worked in many films, including Chhapaak, Half Girlfriend, Jeene Weds Sunny, Haseen Dilruba, Gaslight, Love Hostel, 12th Fail, Sector 36, and The Sabarmati Report. Vikrant earned a lot of recognition as an actor through these films. His career received a major boost with the web series Mirzapur. Vikrant was recently honored with the Personality of the Year award at IFFI 2024.
Vikrant’s Recent Projects
Last year, Vikrant was seen in 12th Fail in the role of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. In August, he made a remarkable comeback in Haseen Dilruba as Rishu. Recently, his film The Sabarmati Report was released and received a lot of praise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the film.
Threats During The Sabarmati Report Promotion
During the promotion of The Sabarmati Report, the actor revealed in an interview that he received threats via various social media platforms due to the ongoing controversy surrounding the film. He said, “I have received and am still receiving death threats. But we are artists, we weave stories. It doesn’t matter what people think or feel.” Vikrant also mentioned that due to working in a film based on the Gujarat riots, he had received these threats. He added, “I have been receiving threatening messages on WhatsApp.”
Artistic Freedom and Threats to His Family
“I became a father to a son 9 months ago. He hasn’t even learned to walk yet, and there are inappropriate comments being made about him. I don’t understand what era we are living in. Is it right to suppress art? The Nazis in Germany killed thousands of Jews, many films were made about it, and they received awards. Similarly, the US dropped an atomic bomb on Japan, and many award-winning films were made about it. So why should we think so much before making a film about events happening here?” Vikrant stated.
Final Two Films
According to reports, Vikrant is currently working on two films – Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan. Regarding these films, the actor wrote, “In 2025, we will meet for the last time. Thank you once again for the last two films and many years of memories.
