Kangana Offers Priyanka Gandhi to Watch ‘Emergency’ Film
Kangana mentioned that Priyanka often speaks about her grandmother. Additionally, she frequently references her late grandmother, Indira Gandhi, in her speeches and has mentioned drawing inspiration from her.
Kangana shared that when she met Priyanka Gandhi in Parliament, she asked her if she would watch the film Emergency. Priyanka responded, “Yes, maybe,” to which Kangana replied, “You will like it.”

Kangana spoke about the film, mentioning that her portrayal of Indira Gandhi’s character has its own sensitivity and depth.

The Film to Release on January 17

Film’s Release Delayed Due to Lack of Certification
The film Emergency was initially scheduled to release on June 14, 2024. However, it was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections. The film was then set for release on September 6, 2024, but just days before its release, the Censor Board refused to provide certification for the film. It was claimed that the film contained controversial scenes that could disrupt public peace.
On August 30, Kangana revealed that her film Emergency had passed the certification process, but due to pressure from certain powerful individuals, the Censor Board had denied it certification. Kangana then approached the High Court regarding the matter. Additionally, there were calls to ban the film in Telangana due to some objectionable scenes involving the Sikh community.
Film Receives Censor Board Approval on October 17
While the certification issue was still pending, the release of the film was halted. Several complaints were filed against Kangana across the country, and there were demands to ban the film.
The Sikh community also strongly opposed Kangana and the film. On October 17, Kangana Ranaut confirmed that the Censor Board had approved the film.
