Jasprit Bumrah Joins Coldplay Concert: Chris Martin Sings Special Song, Calls Him the Best Bowler in Cricket World

Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah attended the Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad on January 26. After being sidelined from the team due to a back injury, Bumrah was seen enjoying the concert thoroughly. 

The crowd’s excitement was palpable when Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, mentioned Bumrah’s name during the performance. The British band also sang a few lines dedicated to the Indian fast bowler. The video of this moment has gone viral on social media.

Coldplay Sings Special Song for Jasprit Bumrah

At the concert, the British band gave a warm welcome to Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and sang a few lines dedicated to him. The band jokingly remarked, “We don’t enjoy watching you take wicket after wicket against England.” 

Coldplay’s lead singer performed the lines: “Oh Jasprit Bumrah, my brother, the best bowler in the cricket world. Watching you take wicket after wicket against England is no fun for us.”

Coldplay Displays Signed Jersey in Honor of Jasprit Bumrah

At the concert in Ahmedabad, Coldplay showcased Jasprit Bumrah’s signed Test jersey on stage as a tribute to him. This is not the first time Coldplay has mentioned Bumrah during their concert in India. 

Earlier, during a show in Mumbai, the band played a video of Bumrah during the 2024 Test series against England, highlighting his performance against the English batting lineup.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Name Creates a Stir at Mumbai Concert

During the same show, Chris Martin jokingly mentioned that Coldplay received a legal notice from Bumrah’s lawyers for using his name during the concert. While reading the fictional letter, Martin said, “I’m very sorry, but I have to read this letter from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyers. I have to do this, or we might end up in jail and won’t be able to perform in Ahmedabad.”

Fireworks were also set off in the stadium during the show.

After several other references during the show, Bumrah himself finally made his appearance at the concert. The January 26 show was live-streamed on Hotstar, and Indian cricket fans were thrilled to see Bumrah on TV. Bumrah also enjoyed the concert and the lively atmosphere of the Narendra Modi Stadium, packed with excited fans.
