Taarak Mehta’s Sodhi Returns Home Safely After 25 Days, Says He Stayed at Amritsar Gurudwaras
Actor Gurucharan Singh from ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ returned home on Friday after being missing for three weeks. He had been missing since April 22. According to Delhi Police, during questioning, Gurucharan Singh stated that he went on a spiritual journey, leaving behind worldly worries. He mentioned that during these three weeks, he visited many gurdwaras in cities including Amritsar and Ludhiana. Later, he felt it was time to return home, so he came back.
He left his home in Delhi on April 22 to go to Mumbai. However, he neither reached the airport nor returned home. Following this, the Delhi Police registered a kidnapping case and started an investigation.
Gurucharan Was Facing Financial Crisis
Initial investigation revealed that Gurucharan was soon to be married. Additionally, he was facing financial difficulties. Police stated that on April 22, Gurucharan withdrew 7,000 rupees from an ATM, after which his phone was switched off. His last location was found to be a few kilometers away from his home in Palam, Delhi.
Left the Show After Dispute with Producer
Gurucharan Singh was a part of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ from its inception until 2013. Later, due to some disputes with producer Asit Modi, he left the show. However, he had become so popular by then that the producers had to bring him back to the show due to public demand. After his return, he worked on the show for another six years.
After this, Gurucharan left the show in 2020 during the lockdown to take care of his father. After distancing himself from acting, Gurucharan has been living with his parents in Delhi.
