Previously, an individual who had threatened to fly drones into the Narendra Modi Stadium via email had also demanded 500 crores from the government. Subsequently, a request to release imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was made. The threat had prompted the state security agencies and the state police to be on high alert. Meanwhile, heightened security measures have been put in place at Narendra Modi Stadium in preparation for the upcoming match, with a three-tier security arrangement. The Police Commissioner had previously provided information about this development.

An email threat had stated, “Release Lawrence Bishnoi and give 500 crores, or else we will target Narendra Modi Stadium.” The seriousness of this incident prompted Delhi Police to alert Gujarat’s DGP. Consequently, DGP informed the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner to enhance the security arrangements at the stadium. As a result, security at the stadium for the India-Pakistan match has been reinforced, with deployment increasing from 3,000 to 5,000 personnel.
