Dilip Joshi Takes Break from ‘Tarak Mehta’ Amid Controversy; Heads to Tanzania and Abu Dhabi

According to reports from Etimes, the actor who portrays Jethalal, Dilip Joshi, has taken a short break from the show. Dilip Joshi has always prioritized the show’s shooting, resulting in him taking very few leaves. However, currently, he won’t be seen in the show for some time.

According to Etimes reports, Dilip Joshi took a break from work and went to Tanzania with his family. They are on a spiritual journey and will participate in events at the Swaminarayan Mandir in Tanzania. Dilip Joshi will also visit Abu Dhabi in February, where he will participate in events at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir.
Portraying the Role of Jethalal for 15 Years
Dilip Joshi has been associated with the show since 2008 when it first started. Even after 15 years, he continues to be as popular as before in the role of Jethalal. Over the years, many actors have bid farewell to the show. Among them, Disha Vakani, Jennifer Bansiwal Mistri, and Raj Anadkat, who left the show within the past year.
Recent Controversies Surrounding the Show
Recently, Shaillesh Lodha, who plays the character of Taarak Mehta, made several allegations against the producers. In an interview, he revealed the reasons for leaving the show. Shaillesh Lodha mentioned that Asit Modi had a very unpleasant attitude towards him and engaged in improper behavior. To protect his self-esteem, he decided to quit the show. Shaillesh Lodha also stated that apart from Asit Modi, no other actor had a close relationship with him and interacted in a negative manner. Shaillesh Lodha had previously accused the producers of not paying the remaining fee after leaving the show. He had also filed a court case against the makers, which later led to the court ordering the makers to pay the pending amount. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal had also accused Asit Modi of harassment and had filed a police complaint against him.
