Income Tax Raids Target SP Leader Azam Khan

The Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan is facing a new challenge. Cases of land encroachments have surfaced at many of his properties in Rampur and Lakhnau. It is being said that Azam Khan’s affidavits submitted to the court had many discrepancies. Following this, the IT department initiated raids at several of his locations, including his residence and business establishments.

The powerful Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan is facing a new challenge. Encroachment cases have emerged at many of his properties in locations ranging from Rampur, Lucknow, to various other places. Encroachments have been reported in Lucknow, Rampur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, and Sitapur. Azam Khan’s Al Jauhar Trust is also under the income tax department’s scrutiny. It is being said that Azam Khan’s affidavits submitted to the court had discrepancies. After these discrepancies came to the attention of the IT department, extensive raids were conducted to address the encroachments.

The Samajwadi Party leader has submitted a family affidavit. In it, there were several mistakes. Besides, some assets were not mentioned in the affidavits. At the same time, the details of Al Jauhar Trust were also questioned, which the IT department could not find. After that, the department initiated actions against his properties.

In a hate speech case, he was sentenced to two years in prison. It should be noted that Azam Khan has been actively involved in his most challenging phase these days. He is facing several allegations. A few months ago, he was sentenced to two years in prison for delivering an incendiary speech in Rampur. This case was registered at Shahjahanpur Police Station.

Y Category Security Removed

A few months ago, Yogi government withdrew his Y category security. Subsequently, the police personnel assigned for his security were called back. In this case, a senior officer of the Home Department revealed that there is no reason to provide Azam Khan with Y category security. He has not faced any direct threats to his life.

The Entire Family Dragged into Corner

It should be noted that Azam Khan has been in power in Uttar Pradesh since the time of Yogi Adityanath’s government. Consequently, Azam Khan’s troubles have increased significantly. The entire family has been dragged into corner. He is now out of his own land. His son, Abdullah Azam, who was also a member of the legislative assembly, has lost his position. Once they were prominent in Rampur, but now they have lost their stature.
