IDFC Replaces MasterCard as Title Sponsor for India’s Home Internationals
The private sector bank, IDFC, has secured the title sponsorship rights for the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) home international matches. Under this agreement, BCCI will receive Rs 4.2 crore for each match from IDFC.
In the previous arrangement with Mastercard as the title sponsor, BCCI was earning Rs 3.8 crore per match. With the new deal, BCCI has witnessed a significant increase of 40 lakh rupees per match in sponsorship revenue.
The Agreement Will Last Till August 2026
This sponsorship deal is set to continue until August 2026 and will encompass a total of 56 matches. The arrangement will kick off with the upcoming 3-match ODI series against Australia. Notably, IDFC emerged victorious in the competition for the BCCI title sponsorship, outbidding Sony Sports. Interestingly, no other company participated in this auction process, making IDFC the exclusive title sponsor for BCCI’s home international matches.
Dream-11 Team India’s Jersey Sponsor
The fantasy sports gaming company ‘Dream11‘ has taken over as the logo on Team India’s jersey, replacing BYJU’s. In July of this year, DREAM11 secured the main sponsorship rights for Team India’s jersey in a deal worth Rs 358 crore. This sponsorship agreement is set to last for a period of 3 years.
Prior to this arrangement, BYJU’s sponsorship contract had expired after the series against Australia in March of the same year. Consequently, India had no jersey sponsor for a period of 3 months. The BCCI later announced a partnership with Dream11 to fill this sponsorship void.
Adidas Kit Sponsor, Dream-11 Jersey Sponsor
In June of this year, Adidas secured the kit sponsorship rights for Team India. Under this agreement, Adidas will be responsible for designing Team India’s jerseys. The Adidas logo will appear on the shoulders of the players’ jerseys during bilateral series matches. Additionally, the chest part of the players’ jerseys will feature the logo of Dream11. This marks a significant collaboration between these two prominent brands in Indian cricket.
