AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava’s Dance Video with Bootlegger Goes Viral; Issues Clarification
Surat: A video of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava dancing with a bootlegger at a wedding function has gone viral on social media. The incident took place in Amroli, Surat, where Vasava was seen dancing alongside the bootlegger, identified as Budho alias Budhiyo from Kamrej.
Viral Video Sparks Controversy
The video, which surfaced on social media, shows MLA Chaitar Vasava dancing with his hand on the shoulder of the bootlegger. As the video gained traction, questions were raised about the association between the AAP leader and the alleged bootlegger, compelling Vasava to issue a clarification.
Dance at Wedding Function
The incident occurred on March 2 at a wedding function of a friend’s sister in Surat, where Vasava was an invited guest. After dinner, the bride invited the MLA to dance, and he joined in with his friends. During the celebration, another individual also joined the dance. It was later revealed that this person was a well-known bootlegger from Kamrej.
No Association with Bootlegger, Claims Vasava
Responding to the controversy, MLA Chaitar Vasava clarified that he had no association with the bootlegger. He stated, “During the wedding celebration, the bootlegger joined the dance, but I have no connection with him. I had never met him before, and I was unaware of his identity. Since it was a large gathering, I had no idea who was joining in.”
He further emphasized his stand against illegal liquor businesses, stating, “I have always raised my voice against liquor trade and have opposed those involved in it.”
Alleges Bootlegger’s BJP Links
In his defense, Vasava claimed that the bootlegger in question is an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He added, “Upon further inquiry, we found that this bootlegger has strong ties with BJP leaders, including Ganpat Vasava and Kunvarji Halpati. His social media accounts also contain pictures with these leaders.”
As the controversy continues, Vasava’s clarification has sparked political debate, with opposition parties likely to use the incident for political leverage.
