YouTube Removes Controversial Video After Government Notice; Mumbai Police Contacts Ranveer & Samay

The controversy surrounding stand-up comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, refuses to die down. The dispute erupted after the release of a recent episode in which Ranveer Allahbadia made certain remarks that sparked backlash. 

Legal complaints have been filed against Ranveer and the show’s team in both Delhi and Mumbai. Additionally, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that a case has also been registered in Assam. In response to the growing controversy, YouTube has now removed the disputed episode.

YouTube Takes Down the Controversial Video

Following directives from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), YouTube was instructed to remove the controversial video and respond within three days. Subsequently, the video was taken down. 

Meanwhile, in connection with the contentious statements made on India’s Got Latent, Mumbai Police reached out to Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia, urging them to cooperate with investigators and present their side of the story.

Ranveer Issues Apology

Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks during the show angered many viewers. In response, he took to social media to issue a public apology, stating, “My statement was inappropriate and not humorous. Comedy is not my forte. I am here solely to apologize. I will not justify my statement—I am just seeking forgiveness.”

Demand for Ban on the Show Grows

As soon as the episode gained traction on social media, users began calling for a ban on India’s Got Latent and started unsubscribing from Ranveer Allahbadia’s channel. Many netizens believe that Ranveer does not deserve the fame he enjoys. 

Despite the uproar, neither Samay Raina nor Ranveer Allahbadia has officially responded to the controversy, apart from Ranveer’s apology.
