Karnataka Express Runs Over Passengers, 11 Dead: Panic Over Fire Rumor Leads to Tragedy; 40 Injured
A major train accident occurred on Wednesday in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. At Pardhade railway station, rumors spread about a fire in the Pushpak Express. Following this, someone pulled the emergency chain, and many passengers jumped onto the tracks from the moving train.

According to sources, passengers were still on the tracks when the Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express approached on another track. The train ran over several passengers. News agency IANS has reported that 8-10 people lost their lives in the incident.

Smoke from Train Wheels Triggers Panic Among Passengers
Train number 12696, Karnataka Sampark Kranti, was traveling from Yeshwantpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin, while the Pushpak Express was heading from Lucknow to Mumbai. Reports suggest that smoke emerged from the wheels of the Pushpak Express when the brakes were applied. This led to rumors of a fire on the train, causing panic among passengers. Many jumped out of the coaches in fear.

Railway officials have confirmed the incident. Official sources from the Bhusawal division of Central Railway stated that the location of the incident had a sharp curve, making it difficult for passengers sitting on the tracks to notice the approaching train.
