Gas Cylinder Blast in Surat’s Punagam Area: Six Injured, Three Critical; Explosion Shatters Walls and Windows
In the Radha Krishna Society, located in the Punagam area of Surat, six people, including five family members living in a ground-floor house, were injured due to a gas cylinder blast in one of the rooms.
The explosion in the cylinder of another room spread the fire to both rooms. All the injured were rushed to Smeemir Hospital for treatment. Three of them are reported to be in critical condition. They have been transferred to a private hospital for further treatment. The affected family had been renting a room in the building.
Six People Burned in Fire After Gas Blast in Surat’s Radha Krishna Society
According to reports, Pappu Gajendra Bhadoria, 42, originally from Rajasthan, lives with his family in Radha Krishna Society, located in the Punagam area of Surat. His family consists of his wife, two daughters, and a son. Gajendra Bhai supports his family by driving an auto rickshaw. The house they rented in Radha Krishna Society has three rooms, and they lived in one of them.
On the night of the incident, the entire family went to sleep in their room. Around 6 a.m., a loud explosion was heard, followed by a fire. The blast caused panic among all the sleeping family members, who hurriedly tried to escape the fire.
The family quickly ran outside, and all of them were rushed to Smeemir Hospital for treatment. Three family members, including two, are reported to be in serious condition. They have been transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.
All Injured Rushed to Hospital, Three in Critical Condition
Family members have reported that the room where Gajendra Bhai and his family were staying was next to another room, where a gas cylinder exploded early in the morning, causing a fire to spread to both rooms.
Following the blast, the entire family was rushed to the hospital for treatment. A young man who lives next to Gajendra Bhai contacted the family, and they quickly arrived at the hospital. Three members of the family are in critical condition.
Windows and Doors Shattered Due to Blast, Six Injured in Fire
Dilipbhai, a resident of the society, shared that he heard the sound of a blast at around 6:20 a.m. “I live on the opposite side. When I stepped outside, I saw that a blast had occurred, and there was a fire as well.
People were screaming, so I called 108, and all the injured were rushed to the hospital,” he said. As a result of the blast, six people were burned, and the fire also damaged belongings inside the house. The force of the explosion shattered windows and doors.
