Naxalites Attack Army Vehicle with IED Blast: 8 Jawans Martyred, Vehicle Parts Flung High, Bodies Found in Unrecognizable State

In a tragic incident in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, Naxalites carried out an IED blast targeting a vehicle carrying security personnel. The attack claimed the lives of eight jawans from Dantewada’s District Reserve Guard (DRG) and one driver. The IG of Bastar Range confirmed the incident.

According to Sundarraj P., IG of Bastar Range, the joint operation team was returning to Bijapur after completing an operation. The Naxalites detonated an IED near Ambeli village around 2:15 PM on Monday.

A deep crater had formed on the road after an IED blast near Ambeli village.

Additionally, DRG jawan Head Constable Sannu Karam was martyred late Saturday night in an encounter in the dense forests of Abujhmad. In the same operation, security forces neutralized four Maoists, including a woman Naxalite.

The vehicle was completely damaged after the blast. The car bounced several times and fell down, turning into rubble.

Three Naxalites Killed in Gariaband Operation Three Days Ago

Three days ago, security forces eliminated three Naxalites in the Naxal-affected Soramal forest of Gariaband district. The operation was carried out by teams from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF), involving approximately 300 soldiers from Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

After the soldiers' deaths, their weapons and other belongings were kept safe.

The forces also surrounded Odisha’s Nabarangpur region, leaving no escape route for the Naxalites. Following an encounter between the security forces and Naxalites, the bodies of three Naxalites were recovered. Gariaband SP Nikhil Rakhecha confirmed the successful operation.

The bodies of the soldiers were found in a mutilated condition after the explosion.

Four Naxalites Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter; DRG Jawan Martyred

Late Saturday night, an intense encounter between police forces and Naxalites occurred in the dense forests of Abujhmad, near the border of Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada and Narayanpur districts. In this clash, Head Constable Sannu Karam of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was martyred. The forces also neutralized four Maoists, including a female Naxalite.

Sannu Karam, the martyred soldier, was a former Naxalite who had surrendered a few years ago and joined the police force. He was stationed in Dantewada. During a search operation, security forces recovered the bodies of the Naxalites along with weapons, including AK-47 and SLR rifles. The operation’s success was confirmed by Bastar IG Sundarraj P.
