Robbers Steal 50 Lakh Worth Jewelry from Bopal Showroom: Arrested in UP with Help of Security Guard Who Tip-Off at Gunpoint

The police have successfully cracked the case of a jewelry heist worth over 50 lakh rupees that took place in the bustling South Bopal area of Ahmedabad. The robbers, who carried out the daylight robbery in a manner akin to a vegetable market raid, escaped after looting the jewelry from a local jeweler’s shop. 

Following the incident, the police conducted an investigation based on CCTV footage. In connection with the case, police have apprehended a total of 10 suspects, including the robbers from Uttar Pradesh. The arrested suspects are being brought to Ahmedabad for further investigation. It has been revealed that one of the security guards stationed near the jewelry shop tipped off the robbers about the opportunity to execute the heist.

Robbery at Kanakpura Jewelers in South Bopal, Ahmedabad

On January 2nd, a robbery took place around 3 PM at the Shaligram Prime, located near the Marigold Circle in South Bopal, Ahmedabad. The showroom, Kanakpura Jewelers, is jointly run by Bharatbhai Lodhiya and Mansukhbhai. 

Three individuals, wearing masks and one with a helmet, entered the showroom under the pretense of wanting to purchase jewelry. Within minutes, the robbers, armed with a gun, stole jewelry worth over 50 lakh rupees, including gold and silver items, and managed to escape. In addition, the robbers took the mobile phones of both Bharatbhai and Mansukhbhai before fleeing the scene.

Police Identify Robbers After Analyzing 200 CCTV Footages

To apprehend the robbers, the police reviewed over 200 CCTV footages, leading to the arrest of several suspects. Local residents also cooperated significantly with the police in solving the case. The robbers, who appeared nervous during the heist, only managed to steal the jewelry displayed in the showroom. 

If they had been more confident, they might have stolen jewelry worth an additional 4.80 crore rupees. While analyzing the CCTV footage around the store, the police were able to clearly identify the faces of the gang members. The robbers had escaped through the unpaved roads of Bopal, which caused the CCTV cameras ahead of their route to miss recording their escape.

Shocking Revelation: Security Guard Aided Robbers in Jewelry Heist

In a stunning development regarding the multi-lakh rupee jewelry heist, it has been revealed that a security guard stationed near the jewelry shop provided a tip-off to the robbers. The guard was familiar with the criminals and called them to carry out the robbery. He actively assisted the robbers in orchestrating the entire plan. 

After detaining and questioning the security guard, he confessed to his involvement and provided crucial details about the robbers’ identities and their place of residence. This led to a police team being dispatched to Uttar Pradesh, where the suspects were apprehended and are now being brought to Ahmedabad.

In this daring daylight robbery, the Ahmedabad District Police have achieved a significant success. They have arrested 10 individuals, including the four main suspects involved in the heist, who were apprehended from Uttar Pradesh. Ahmedabad District DSP Omprakash Jate told Source that the case has now been solved.
