Ather Updates 450 Series Electric Scooter: Multi-Mode Traction Control for Safety, 161km Range with Two New Color Options

Bengaluru-based EV company Ather Energy launched its updated range of the popular 450 series electric scooter on January 4. The range includes the 450S, 450X 2.9kWh, 450X 3.7kWh, and 450 Apex models. 

The electric scooters are now available in two new color options and come with new features.

Ather 450X and 450 Apex Introduce Multi-Mode Traction Control Technology

To prevent the scooter from slipping, Ather has included Multi-Mode Traction Control Technology in the 450X and 450 Apex models. This includes a ‘Rain Mode’ for wet roads, a ‘Road Mode’ for normal roads, and a ‘Rally Mode’ for off-roading. The electric scooters now offer a range of up to 161 kilometers.

Ather 450 Lineup Price Increase and Competitors in India

The price of the Ather 450 lineup has been increased. The base model, the 450S, now starts at ₹1,29,999, while the top model, the 450 Apex, is priced at ₹1,99,999 (all prices ex-showroom). The company has begun test rides and bookings.

The 2025 Ather 450 lineup will compete with the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 lineup, and Hero Vida V2 in India.
