Maruti Suzuki is set to incorporate hybrid technology into its popular SUV, the Fronx. This development is expected to mark a new chapter for both the company and the automotive industry, as the vehicle’s mileage is projected to reach an impressive 30 kilometers per liter. 

Having already established its presence in the hybrid vehicle segment, the Fronx is anticipated to set new benchmarks not only in the domestic market but also on an international scale.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Rapid Success and Upcoming Facelift with Hybrid Technology

Launched in April 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx created a buzz in the Indian market. Within just 10 months of its launch, it became Maruti Suzuki’s fastest-selling model, surpassing 1 lakh units in sales. Moreover, the company has expanded its reach by exporting the Fronx to international markets such as Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Now, there are reports suggesting that the Fronx may receive a facelift next year or in 2026. This updated model will likely be Maruti’s first affordable SUV to feature strong hybrid technology. The new Z12E engine, set to debut in the new Fronx variant, will offer improved fuel efficiency (30+ kmpl) and eco-friendly performance.

Maruti Suzuki’s Homegrown Hybrid Technology Inspired by Nissan e-Power

Maruti Suzuki’s focus is on making its homegrown HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system simpler and more affordable. This technology is similar to Nissan’s e-Power system, where the petrol engine is primarily used to charge the battery, leading to improved mileage.

The updated Fronx is expected to feature not only hybrid technology but also subtle design changes and new interior features. This model could become the first sub-4-meter SUV in India to incorporate hybrid technology.
