OnePlus to Launch New Foldable Phone: Leaked Renders and Features of OnePlus Open 2 Before Launch
OnePlus is gearing up to launch its new foldable phone, the OnePlus Open 2. While the official launch date has not been confirmed yet, Smartprix has generated excitement among users by leaking renders and special features of the phone. According to the leaks, the design of the OnePlus Open 2 will be similar to that of the OnePlus Open.
The company is set to offer a circular camera module on the back panel. However, the internal camera layout of the OnePlus Open 2 has undergone changes, with three sensors on the top half of the circle and Hasselblad branding placed at the bottom.
Flat Body and Slim Design
For the new foldable phone, the company plans to offer a curved rear edge instead of a flat body. When unfolded, the phone’s design will look similar to the OnePlus Open, but it will be slightly larger and thinner than the original model.
According to reports, when folded, its thickness will be less than 10mm, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones available in the market. However, the report mentions that the design-related information is based on late-stage production prototypes, and the final design may differ slightly from this.
Features and Specifications
The company may offer an 8-inch 2K LTPO main display with a 120Hz refresh rate on this phone, which is slightly larger than the OnePlus Open’s 7.82-inch display. As for the outer display, it could be 6.4 inches.
The phone may come with options for 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. For processing power, the company is likely to equip it with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
For photography, the phone will feature a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. Additionally, the company may offer 32-megapixel and 20-megapixel cameras for selfies. Regarding the battery, the OnePlus Open comes with a 4800mAh battery, but the OnePlus Open 2 will likely be equipped with a 5900mAh battery and 80W fast charging.
According to reports, this phone could launch in China in early 2025, with its global release expected in the first quarter of the following year.
