No Escape for Cyber Fraudsters! Police to Use ‘Oxygen’ Software from Israel & Australia
Delhi Police is set to use new technology to take action against cyber fraudsters. The police have procured special software from Australia and Israel. These tools will help the police in fast-track investigations and keep a close watch on criminals. According to media reports, the Delhi Police Cyber Cell has already begun using both software. The software ‘UFED’ from an Israeli company and ‘Oxygen’ from Australia have been installed.
Israeli Software to Monitor Cyber Crimes
The Israeli software will monitor virtually all types of crime data in virtual spaces. This technology will be able to break all types of locks placed by criminals and track online tampering activities.
Australian Software ‘Oxygen’
With the help of the Australian software ‘Oxygen,’ the police will be able to investigate communications systems based on standard protocols. After using this software, the police will be able to easily check all operating systems, including Android, Windows, and iOS. China’s secure operating system, Chinax, is also included in the software’s capabilities.
Special Software to Prevent Child Pornography
To combat child pornography and cybercrimes against women, Delhi Police is using a special software, ICMIC, which was developed by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies in the United States.
Digital Arrests in Cyber Fraud
Cyber fraudsters have come up with new methods of deception. Criminals impersonate CBI, ED, or police officers and make video calls. They falsely accuse the victim and mention the possibility of a digital arrest. They convince the victim and place them under digital arrest. In digital arrest, the victim is always told to stay on video call and is constantly monitored. To avoid physical detention, money is demanded. However, there is no legal definition for digital arrest.
